The Rumuruti Municipality Board of Management comprises nine dedicated professionals, bringing diverse expertise to guide the municipality’s growth as Laikipia County’s administrative hub. Sworn in during 2019, the board oversees strategic development, including policies, infrastructure projects, and investments like the Sh113 million from the World Bank’s Kenya Urban Support Programme (KUSP) for roads, street lighting, and urban planning. Below are the board members and their roles in shaping Rumuruti’s future.

Peter Rukwaro – Chairman

As the board’s leader, Peter Rukwaro steers Rumuruti Municipality toward becoming a preferred investment destination. He guides the formulation of integrated development plans, ensuring sustainable growth and alignment with county goals.

Faith Ntarara – Vice Chairman

Faith Ntarara supports the chairman in driving the board’s mandate. She is committed to enhancing social amenities, such as sewerage systems and livestock markets, to improve the quality of life for Rumuruti’s residents.

Jackson M. Kibocha – Municipal Manager

Jackson Kibocha, the Municipal Manager, drives day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives. His leadership has transformed Rumuruti into a clean, planned urban center, leveraging investments for infrastructure like roads and lighting.

Hon. Rose Maitai – CECM, County Administration

As the County Executive Committee Member for Administration, Hon. Rose Maitai provides oversight, bridging municipal and county-level governance to ensure cohesive policy implementation and administrative support.

Richard Kamunya – Board Member

Richard Kamunya contributes to policy development and infrastructural projects, focusing on sustainable urban planning to support Rumuruti’s growth as an investment hub.

Issack Sheikh – Board Member

Issack Sheikh plays a key role in overseeing municipal affairs, ensuring effective service delivery and alignment with the municipality’s development goals.

Saul Cheruiyot – Board Member

Agnes Lokoro – Board Member

Patricia Lelegwe – Board Member
